Senior Technical Writer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join their team in London. Our client operates advanced high-performance computing environments and needs an experienced documentation professional who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content for developers and technical users.

This is a hands-on role working directly with product, engineering, and operations teams to create comprehensive documentation across APIs, platform services, infrastructure, and operational workflows. You'll own the entire documentation experience and establish standards that enable teams to scale their content effectively.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve developer and product documentation including guides, tutorials, API documentation, reference materials, troubleshooting guides, and operational content
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to ensure documentation is integrated into the product development and release process
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise content tailored to different technical audiences
• Create and maintain getting-started guides, how-to content, examples, architecture explanations, and best-practice documentation
• Test documented workflows directly to verify accuracy, completeness, and usability
• Improve documentation structure, navigation, discoverability, and consistency across all materials
• Collaborate with Support and Solutions teams to identify common customer issues and develop self-service content
• Establish documentation standards, templates, style guidelines, and contribution processes for engineering teams
• Track documentation quality and usage metrics, using feedback and product data to drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience writing documentation for technical products, cloud platforms, developer tools, infrastructure, APIs, or SaaS products
• Strong technical fluency across cloud and infrastructure concepts (Kubernetes, containers, networking, compute, storage)
• Deep understanding of APIs and integrations (REST APIs, authentication, webhooks, SDKs)
• Familiarity with developer workflows including CLI tools, Git, CI/CD, configuration, and automation
• Knowledge of observability and operations (logging, metrics, monitoring, troubleshooting)
• Comfortable reading code, API specifications, configuration files, architecture diagrams, and technical designs
• Experience with docs-as-code workflows, Markdown, Git, and documentation tooling such as Docusaurus, MkDocs, GitBook, or similar platforms
• Ability to work directly with engineers and subject matter experts to extract information without relying on fully formed source material
• Excellent written communication, editing, information architecture skills, and meticulous attention to detail
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments where products and documentation evolve rapidly
• Systems thinking with the ability to understand how infrastructure, services, data, and operational workflows interconnect
