Data & Analytics Engineer – Commercial Pharma

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential pharmaceutical organization seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to support their commercial operations. In this role, you will:

• Design and implement data models spanning field operations, brand performance, patient journeys, market access, and omnichannel engagement
• Integrate prescription and sales data with claims information, specialty pharmacy feeds, patient support programs, CRM platforms, and digital touchpoints
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that produce reusable, curated datasets for downstream analytics
• Resolve complex identity and hierarchical mappings for healthcare providers, products, payers, geographies, and sales territories
• Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks and source-to-target validation processes
• Create analytical data marts, semantic layers, and standardized KPI logic to enable consistent reporting across the organization

What We're Looking For

Experience:

• 5 to 8+ years of hands-on experience in analytics or data engineering roles
• 3+ years working with commercial pharmaceutical or biotech data strongly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in sales and field effectiveness analytics
• Background in patient and market access analytics

Data Modeling Skills:

• Strong command of fact and dimension design principles
• Experience building star schemas and conformed dimensions
• Ability to create analytical marts and semantic layers
• Healthcare provider and organization affiliation matching, including NPI resolution

Technical Capabilities:

• Advanced SQL proficiency working with large commercial datasets
• Python for data processing, validation, and workflow automation
• Solid ETL/ELT development experience; familiarity with dbt or similar tools
• Platform experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable modern data platforms

Commercial Pharma Data Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of third-party prescription and market data sources
• Experience with specialty pharmacy and patient hub data feeds
• Familiarity with CRM activity data from platforms such as Veeva or Salesforce
