Engineering Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is experiencing significant growth in their digital payments infrastructure. They are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a newly formed team focused on prepaid card solutions—a product line already processing millions of transactions annually and expanding into new markets.

This is a fully remote role available to candidates anywhere in the Americas. Our client operates with an async-first, low-meeting culture that prioritizes documentation and meaningful work over constant synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and build a team focused on prepaid card payment solutions as the product expands into new card types and international markets
• Develop engineers' careers through regular one-on-ones, constructive feedback, and intentional coaching
• Ensure technical quality through code reviews, architecture decisions, and establishing engineering standards
• Partner with product management to define team processes and workflows that serve your team's needs
• Report to the Director of Engineering while maintaining autonomy over how your team operates
• Champion AI adoption across the team while maintaining high quality standards
• Write technical documentation and communicate complex concepts to cross-functional stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a management or tech lead capacity
• Proven technical judgment with the ability to make sound architectural decisions and articulate reasoning clearly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Product intuition that helps you determine what to build and communicate initiatives effectively to your team
• Experience using AI tools extensively in your own work and helping teams adopt them without compromising quality
• Track record of attracting and retaining engineering talent—people genuinely enjoy working with you
• High empathy for teammates and end users, with the ability to understand diverse perspectives
• Developmental coaching mindset focused on long-term growth rather than reactive management

Technical environment: Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud. Familiarity with this stack is beneficial but not required.

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $250,000 to $300,000 base salary, plus equity.
