About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI-driven engineering software organization based in Silicon Valley. Our talent team is conducting a search for a Principal Thermo-Mechanical Engineer to lead their European Forward Deployment function from Paris or Grenoble.

This is a strategic leadership role that combines deep simulation expertise with customer engagement, team building, and product advocacy. You will establish and scale a high-performing team of thermal engineers who work directly with Europe's leading semiconductor and electronics organizations to prove technical value, drive adoption, and translate field insights back to product development.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale a European team of thermo-mechanical engineers, setting technical direction, recruiting talent, mentoring team members, and driving execution across the region
• Collaborate with sales leadership to scope proof-of-concept evaluations, lead technical discussions with enterprise prospects, and deliver compelling product demonstrations
• Guide customer engineering teams through complex simulation test cases, interpret results, and prove technical and business value through real-world design validation
• Own the full customer enablement lifecycle including onboarding, deployment pipelines, training sessions, advanced troubleshooting, and account expansion
• Serve as a key feedback channel between field engagements and internal product/engineering teams, identifying customer pain points and workflow bottlenecks that shape product roadmap
• Represent our client at major industry conferences and semiconductor events through technical presentations and live platform demonstrations
• Maintain deep knowledge of competitive technologies, industry trends, and market positioning to communicate platform differentiators effectively
• Leverage expertise in continuum mechanics to analyze complex physical phenomena including linear/nonlinear behaviors, contact interactions, warpage, stress evolution, thermal cycling, and reliability across advanced semiconductor devices and packaging systems

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical field
• Expert-level mastery of commercial simulation software (Ansys, Abaqus, or equivalent) with 15+ years of hands-on thermo-mechanical simulation experience—either as a practitioner or as a technical account manager for physics simulation software
• Deep familiarity with semiconductor electronics packaging, advanced packaging technologies (2.5D/3D IC), or foundry ecosystems
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles with proven ability to build trust and manage engineering client relationships
• Practical programming experience using Python or C++ to automate workflows or parse simulation data
• Proven track record in managerial or technical leadership roles, with ability to scale, mentor, and drive execution across engineering teams
• Exceptional communication skills with ability to distill complex physics and simulation results into clear narratives for both deep technical audiences and business executives
• Fluency in English and French strongly preferred given the European remit

Preferred differentiators:

• Multiphysics expertise including thermal solutions management and/or Signal Integrity/Power Integrity (SI/PI) workflows
• Direct experience commercializing technical software—ideally EDA or CAE simulation tools—into major semiconductor and electronics enterprises
• Background in technical pre-sales, field application engineering (FAE), or strategic technical sales environments
• Ability to rapidly adopt and champion next-generation physics-based workflows and AI-assisted design or simulation tools

Location and Work Arrangement
