Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences – Düsseldorf, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential audio-tech organization that is experiencing significant growth in the accessibility and information consumption space. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a Core Experiences team in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This is a critical role for an engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure. You'll build and maintain foundational services and SDKs that power product experiences across multiple platforms, designing clear APIs and simple systems that directly enhance user outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across different platforms
• Deliver solutions via cross-platform SDK, focusing on reducing scope to achieve faster customer feedback
• Optimize existing functionality by designing more efficient abstractions and improving algorithms for faster loading and more intelligent parsing
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin
• Think end-to-end about system design, prioritizing simplicity and reliability

• Systems thinking: You understand that optimizing a system requires end-to-end design and value simplicity
• Speed: You work quickly to generate ideas and options, and know how to decide what ships now versus what needs more time
• Focus: You thrive in high-growth startup environments with remote teams and know when to engage versus be heads down
• Collaboration: You can inspire, play, and negotiate with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers
• Kotlin Multiplatform experience (Java experience is acceptable but the role uses Kotlin Multiplatform)
• Prior experience with GCP is a plus
