Responsibilities

Our client, a boutique product design consultancy in London, needs a Lead Visual Designer to drive the visual language of digital solutions across web and mobile platforms. You will:

  • Define overall design look and feel based on product architecture and wireframes
  • Explore and test different visual approaches with target users
  • Create detailed visual design for UI components, states, and interactions
  • Establish comprehensive approaches to color, typography, iconography, and layout
  • Translate brand guidelines into coherent product visual design systems
  • Work from deep insight into user needs and behavior to produce elegant UI solutions

What We're Looking For

You are a master craftsman who knows when to follow UI kits and when to evolve them. You understand the "magic numbers" — from leading to kerning to opacity — and can create exceptional layouts and typographic compositions. Specific requirements include:

  • Proven experience defining and translating branding into product visual design systems
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating web services and user interface design
  • Expert-level skills in iOS and Android user interface design
  • Deep understanding of structured, consistent design approaches
  • Ability to work collaboratively with expert designers who have worked at leading technology companies
  • Passion for evolving best practices and responding to unique project challenges
  • Interest in specialized domains such as mapping, cartography, and data visualization
