ESG & CSR Responsible AI — Master-Level Internship

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization in their search for an ESG & CSR Responsible AI intern. This master's-level internship offers 520 hours of work (approximately 3 months) in a remote capacity, with hybrid options available in Toronto for qualified candidates.

Our client is at an exciting growth stage, and this role provides direct exposure to senior leadership while developing comprehensive AI ethics frameworks. You'll gain hands-on experience in responsible AI practices, policy development, and ethical governance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive AI ethics policies and guidelines to address ethical challenges in AI development and deployment
• Identify and mitigate ethical risks in AI systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards
• Partner with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate AI ethics principles throughout product development stages
• Promote transparency in AI algorithms and processes, ensuring explainability and accountability in decision-making
• Educate internal teams on ethical AI principles through training programs and educational resources
• Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and regulatory developments in AI ethics
• Conduct regular ethics audits to evaluate the ethical implications of AI products and recommend improvements

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's program in Ethics, Computer Science, Data Science, Philosophy, or related field (Master's enrollment or completion is mandatory)
• Experience in AI ethics, policy development, or related field with strong understanding of AI technologies
• Expertise in ethical frameworks, AI governance, and responsible AI practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex ethical challenges
• Excellent communication skills for translating ethical principles into actionable policies
• Familiarity with global AI regulations and industry standards (e.g., EU AI Act, IEEE Standards)
• Understanding of machine learning, data privacy, bias mitigation, and algorithmic transparency
• Passion for ethical AI and commitment to fostering innovation that prioritizes social good
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attention to detail
