About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software and IT services organization with operations across Europe and beyond. Our client serves government institutions, multinational corporations, and academic institutes with enterprise-scale technology solutions. We're currently seeking a Scrum Master to join remotely and support critical client engagements within the EU.

Location: Remote (Norway)

Employment Type: B2B Contract

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and backlog refinement sessions
  • Ensure all meetings remain productive, focused, and within established timeboxes
  • Collaborate closely with the product owner to manage and optimize the backlog
  • Coach teams and Product Owners on empiricism, value-based backlog slicing, and incremental delivery
  • Track and communicate flow metrics (velocity, sprint burndown, iteration burn rate) and guide data-driven improvement initiatives
  • Champion adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices across teams
  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments to team progress
  • Promote empowered, self-organizing teams with shared vision, psychological safety, and collaborative decision-making techniques (e.g., Fist-of-Five)
  • Uphold Definition of Done, quality gates, and compliance with organizational standards
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks
  • Utilize team feedback and metrics to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
  • Support teams in effectively using agile planning and development tools (Azure DevOps, Confluence)
  • Experiment with new practices and frameworks to improve team outcomes
  • Actively participate in communities of practice and learning opportunities to advance your skills
  • Contribute to organizational advancement of agile practices

What We're Looking For

  • University degree and minimum 8 years of IT professional experience
  • At least 3 years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master at SM2 level or above
  • Demonstrated leadership of at least 2 production teams through complete sprint cycles (planning, review, retrospective, refinement)
  • Proven track record implementing data-driven continuous improvement initiatives, such as increasing team velocity or reducing lead time
  • Experience coordinating cross-team work via Scrum-of-Scrums or PI Planning events
  • Deep knowledge of the Scrum Guide and Agile Manifesto principles and values
  • Strong facilitation skills using techniques such as Fist of Five, participatory decision-making, and Liberating Structures
  • Systems-thinking expertise and ability to tailor processes for complex or evolving environments
  • Team motivation and stakeholder engagement capabilities (information radiators, team empowerment models)
  • Proficiency with Agile metrics (velocity, cycle time, burn-up/down charts, cumulative flow diagrams) and dashboard creation for performance tracking and forecasting
  • Tool proficiency in Azure DevOps (preferred) or Jira, particularly backlog management, dashboards, and workflow configuration
  • Active Scrum Master certifications: PSM II (or higher) and SAFe 5/6 Agilist required
  • Experience with scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe, Nexus, LeSS, etc.) considered an asset
  • Knowledge integrating SAFe and Kanban approaches to optimize flow and delivery predictability is a plus
  • Excellent command of English language
