About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential social media platform seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their product experience team. This is a high-impact role focused on one of the most trafficked pages in their ecosystem—where millions of users engage in conversations daily. You'll drive technical and product strategy for a platform serving over 100 million daily active users.

Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute on product strategy and build features users love
- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
- Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mockups
- Contribute meaningfully to team strategy and participate actively in planning initiatives
- Work with a team of motivated engineers to improve developer workflows and establish best practices
- Balance rapid development with quality engineering—building new products without introducing critical bugs
- Continuously learn and develop both technical and non-technical skills
What We're Looking For
- BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 3+ years of post-internship, full-time professional software development experience with large-scale distributed systems
- 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby
- Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
- Entrepreneurial mindset—self-directed, innovative, and biased toward action in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
- Comfort discussing complex technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
