Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential client in the public sector digital transformation space, seeking a Technical Consultant to guide document management implementations from initial requirements through live operation. You'll work directly with universities, public institutions, and other organizations to turn their requirements into stable, practical digital processes.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients through implementation, configuration, and ongoing development of document management solutions
  • Analyzing administrative and document workflows, then designing suitable digital processes in collaboration with clients
  • Configuring document types, properties, permissions, filing structures, workflows, and other system components
  • Diagnosing technical issues using logs, database content, and system messages
  • Working with relational databases for data analysis, troubleshooting, and custom requirements
  • Developing custom adaptations using JavaScript, Groovy, or comparable technologies and configuring interfaces to third-party systems
  • Supporting testing, quality assurance, and deployment of new features and processes
  • Documenting configurations, processes, and project outcomes, training end users, and providing both technical and functional consulting

You'll bridge process consulting with technical implementation—understanding functional requirements, configuring applications, and resolving technical challenges. You'll work with data, workflows, interfaces, services, and logs, discussing processes with clients then implementing the solutions yourself through configurations, SQL queries, or workflow customizations.

What We're Looking For

A degree or apprenticeship in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Public Administration IT, or comparable technical qualification provides a solid foundation. More importantly, we need someone who grasps technical relationships quickly and solves complex problems in a structured way.

Required skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude with enthusiasm for diving deep into complex software applications
  • Structured analysis of requirements and recognition of relationships between processes, software, data, and infrastructure
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases and independent work with SQL
  • Experience with JavaScript, Groovy, or comparable technologies, implementing smaller customizations independently
  • Understanding of Windows Server systems, Windows Services, and log file analysis
  • Ability to analyze technical problems independently rather than immediately escalating to other teams
  • Skills in gathering customer requirements and explaining technical matters clearly
  • Analytical, independent, solution-oriented working style with very strong German language skills

Valuable additional experience:

  • Document management or enterprise content management systems
  • Digital file and administrative processes, workflow configuration
  • REST APIs, interfaces, authentication, and authorization concepts
  • Data migration, operation, and monitoring of complex business applications

Our client will provide comprehensive onboarding on their specific platform and processes. You bring the fundamental technical understanding.
