About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential game development studio working on an atmospheric project that blends repair mechanics, exploration, and immersive simulation elements. Our client is seeking an experienced game designer to join their team remotely from Serbia.
As the game designer on this project, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complete gameplay experiences within individual locations—from initial concept through to engine implementation. Your work will encompass creating and configuring game flow, events, interactive elements, and interaction logic based on direction from the game director and narrative team.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement full gameplay experiences for distinct game locations from concept to execution
- Create and configure game flow, events, and interactive elements within the game engine
- Develop interaction logic that supports the overall player experience
- Collaborate with the game director and narrative team to translate creative direction into functional gameplay
- Ensure individual mechanics and features integrate seamlessly into the broader game flow
- Work autonomously while maintaining effective communication with cross-disciplinary team members
What We're Looking For
- Shipped titles where your contribution is clearly visible (Steam, console, or other platforms)
- Systems thinking: understanding how each mechanic and feature integrates into the location and overall game flow
- Player experience-focused design approach rather than documentation-focused
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across disciplines
- Conversational English proficiency (B1 or higher)
- Strong preference for candidates with experience playing immersive sim, puzzle adventure, or repair simulation games
- Feature owner experience is a plus
