We are representing a confidential technology solutions provider with global operations. Our talent team is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their Malaysia-based team. This role focuses on documentation management, infrastructure operations support, and ensuring compliance across IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and govern a centralized IT documentation repository covering infrastructure systems, network topology, server configurations, and asset inventories
• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, technical guides, and architecture diagrams for all IT infrastructure components
• Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, and version control practices across the IT team
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of existing documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and related infrastructure
• Document change management activities, including system upgrades, patching schedules, and infrastructure modifications
• Support incident management processes by maintaining accurate records of incidents, root cause analyses (RCA), and resolution steps
• Ensure IT documentation aligns with ITIL frameworks, ISO 27001, or other relevant standards
• Support internal and external audits by preparing and presenting accurate, up-to-date documentation packages
• Liaise with system administrators, network engineers, security teams, and business units to gather technical information
• Provide guidance and training to IT staff on documentation tools, standards, and best practices

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related role
• Demonstrated experience producing technical documentation, SOPs, or knowledge base articles in a corporate IT environment
• Professional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent are advantageous

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in English language, both written and spoken
• Proficiency with documentation and knowledge management tools
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers, networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud services
• Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio, draw.io, or Lucidchart
• Working knowledge of ITSM processes including change management, incident management, and asset management
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automating documentation tasks is a plus
• Exposure to ITIL-based service management practices is preferred
