Senior Associate, Senior Sales Representative (Remote, MI, US)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurance organization seeking a Senior Sales Representative to join their Group Benefits division. This is a fully remote role with a strong preference for candidates based in the Detroit Metro area or Southeast Michigan. Our client offers comprehensive group insurance solutions to mid-sized and large employers, and this position plays a critical role in building producer relationships, driving new business, and supporting client retention.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in building relationships and delivering profitable sales results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with brokers and consultants in your assigned territory to generate quote activity and secure new business
• Drive new business by sourcing RFPs, collaborating with underwriting teams, and delivering compelling proposals
• Oversee the full sales process for Life, Accident, Disability, Absence Management, and Supplemental Health products for middle market clients (50-5,000 lives)
• Meet or exceed annual targets for new business premiums and case counts
• Partner with internal service teams to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities while supporting retention goals
• Participate in renewal processes, including underwriting negotiations and client presentations
• Maintain consistent broker outreach and quote activity to build a robust pipeline
• Attend industry events to expand knowledge and strengthen professional relationships
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource on insurance products and market trends in your region
• Ensure an exceptional experience for clients and broker partners throughout the sales cycle
• Contribute to training initiatives and mentor new sales team members
• Manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining compliance requirements

What We're Looking For

• Preferably 5+ years of experience in insurance sales or a related field
• BA/BS degree preferred
• Experience with Life, Accident, Disability, and Leave products is a strong advantage
• Life and Health Insurance licenses preferred; ability to obtain within 90 days of hire if not currently licensed
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven presentation abilities
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
• Exceptional active listening and relationship-building capabilities
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to effectively use and present online tools
• Ability to travel domestically up to 40% of the time, including overnight stays
• Self-directed work style with ability to achieve goals both independently and collaboratively

Pay
