About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital engagement client seeking German-speaking Engagement Moderators to support a high-profile live sports streaming project. This role focuses on real-time community management during live American football and basketball events, interacting with passionate sports fans across digital platforms.

This is a remote position based in Germany, ideal for sports enthusiasts who combine native German communication skills with genuine knowledge of the NFL and NBA. You'll be moderating live conversations, fostering positive community interactions, and maintaining brand voice during fast-paced sporting events.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and moderate live engagement across digital platforms during NFL, NBA, and other sporting events
• Engage with German-speaking fans in real time using appropriate brand voice and tone
• Respond naturally to fan comments, reactions, questions, and conversations during live events
• Foster positive, inclusive, and engaging online communities
• Identify, escalate, and manage inappropriate or policy-violating content
• Adapt messaging style based on event context, audience sentiment, and brand guidelines
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth live-event coverage
• Maintain accuracy, speed, and consistency during high-volume engagement periods
• Stay current on relevant sports news and developments throughout NFL and NBA seasons

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Native-level fluency in German with excellent written communication, grammar, and spelling
• Strong, current knowledge of both American football (NFL) and basketball (NBA)
• Ability to follow fast-moving NFL and NBA conversations without needing to research basic context
• Understanding of sports rules, terminology, positions, gameplay, major teams, players, and storylines
• Familiarity with sports statistics, fan culture, humor, slang, and online conversations
• Prior experience in social media moderation, community management, or digital engagement
• Ability to adapt quickly to different brand voices and communication styles
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, live-event environments
• Weekend and evening availability required (events typically require 3-5 hours of coverage)

Technical Requirements:

• Dedicated laptop or desktop with minimum 8 GB RAM
• Reliable internet connection
• Willingness to install required security software and enable two-factor authentication

Ideal Candidate:

• Regularly follows NFL and NBA games, teams, players, and league developments
• Recognizes major teams, players, rivalries, and league trends
• Experience moderating live sports or entertainment events
• Comfortable with client-facing communication
• Flexibility around live-game schedules with understanding that hours fluctuate throughout the season
