Senior Finanzbuchhalter (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing client in Berlin seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of core accounting processes across multiple entities. In this role, you will ensure that all business transactions are recorded completely, accurately, and on time while delivering reliable monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Managing the ongoing financial accounting for several legal entities independently
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements with precision and adherence to deadlines
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and maintaining high-quality standards
• Preparing, reviewing, and executing payment runs while coordinating with banks and external service providers
• Processing travel and credit card expense reports in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements
• Reconciling and maintaining fixed assets and inventory records with complete documentation
• Serving as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal departments, providing necessary documentation
• Identifying optimization opportunities and contributing to the development of accounting, closing, and reporting processes
• Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues within the finance team

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings at least five years of relevant experience in financial accounting with a proven track record of independently preparing monthly and annual financial statements. You should have completed commercial training, a degree with a focus on finance or accounting, or comparable qualification.

Essential requirements:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and confidence in the assessment and accounting treatment of business transactions
• Proficiency with DATEV and solid understanding of digital accounting and closing processes
• Highly organized, self-directed work style with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Solution-oriented approach to investigating discrepancies and developing pragmatic, technically sound solutions
• Strong team player with clear, professional communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
• Fluent German language skills in both written and spoken form
• Good English language skills are desirable but not mandatory

Certification as a certified accountant or tax specialist is welcome but not required for this position.
