Our client specializes in interactive experiences and branded content across multiple gaming platforms. They are seeking a talented Roblox Thumbnail Artist to create compelling visuals that drive engagement and player acquisition for their high-profile projects.

This is a remote opportunity based in the United States, offering hourly contract work with a dynamic team that values creativity and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design high-impact thumbnails, icons, and key art that increase click-through rates and drive player acquisition across Roblox experiences
• Create 2D and 3D assets using Roblox Studio, Blender, Maya, and 2D tools to pose characters, compose scenes, light models, and paint over renders for polished final thumbnails
• Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Creative Directors, Game Designers, and Marketing teams to ensure all visuals align with project tone, style, and objectives
• Implement creative strategies to optimize CTR, conversions, and overall acquisition performance
• Develop multiple thumbnail variations, run A/B tests, evaluate performance data, and iterate based on player behavior insights
• Stay current on Roblox creative trends, platform behavior, top-performing genres, and competitor thumbnails to ensure visuals remain best in class
• Serve as the go-to resource for thumbnail performance insights, creative trends, and platform behavior across all projects
• Ensure thumbnails and icons align with each game's brand identity, worldbuilding, visual language, and narrative tone

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 2 to 4 years of experience in digital art, 2D and 3D design, or thumbnail creation for gaming, entertainment, or marketing
• Strong portfolio demonstrating eye-catching thumbnails, composition, lighting, and storytelling through static imagery (Roblox examples are a strong plus)
• Proficiency with Blender or Maya for rendering, plus Photoshop or similar tools for compositing, polishing, and final output
• Familiarity with Roblox Studio, UGC aesthetics, and platform visual trends
• Understanding of how thumbnails impact click-through and player engagement
• Strong grasp of composition, lighting, posing, visual hierarchy, and color theory
• Ability to work closely with art, creative, and marketing teams, communicate clearly, and manage feedback cycles
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with tight deadlines

Nice to Have:

• Experience with simple motion graphics or animated thumbnails
• Understanding of user acquisition strategies and visual trends on Roblox, Fortnite Creative, or other UGC gaming platforms
• Experience designing key art, social assets, or promotional graphics beyond thumbnails

Pay
