Senior Product Manager

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential privacy-focused technology organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead a new community-focused product initiative from the ground up. In this role, you will own the complete product lifecycle for a privacy-first community platform serving millions of users globally.

You will define and execute the product strategy and roadmap autonomously, translating vision into clear requirements and shipped experiences. This means identifying the right problems to solve, building the strategic case, and driving execution without waiting for top-down direction.

You will establish and own key performance metrics including activation, engagement, retention, and community health. You'll instrument the product to track these metrics, set ambitious targets, and iterate rapidly based on what the data reveals.

Leading a cross-functional team of 6–12 engineers plus design, data, and growth specialists, you will maintain execution velocity while surfacing blockers early and keeping the team focused on measurable outcomes rather than activity.

You will drive structured product discovery through user research, competitive analysis, and direct feedback loops, ensuring product decisions remain grounded in real user behavior. You'll also represent the product to users, partners, and internal leadership with clarity and confidence.

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a senior product leader with 10+ years of product management experience, including substantial time working on social, messaging, or community platforms. You must have deep, intuitive understanding of community product mechanics—engagement loops, content moderation trade-offs, trust and safety considerations, and network effects.

You are analytically rigorous, defining success through metrics, running structured experiments, and making data-informed decisions while maintaining strong user intuition. Your communication style is direct and precise; you write and speak clearly, push back constructively when needed, and keep stakeholders aligned efficiently.

You have proven ability to lead products autonomously from strategy through execution. You don't need a roadmap handed to you—you build it from first principles and drive it to completion.

Strong candidates will bring deep knowledge of how online communities grow and thrive, including understanding of growth loops, moderation dynamics, and how trust is built at scale. Experience translating this knowledge into prioritized execution plans is essential.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience building privacy-respecting alternatives to mainstream social or community platforms
• Familiarity with open-source community protocols
• Background scaling a community product from early traction to millions of active users

This position is based in Geneva, Switzerland or Paris, France with in-person collaboration expected. Our client values face-to-face teamwork and maintains offices where the product team works together regularly.
