About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential education technology organization in a unique founder-track role. Our client has established an internal venture studio designed to launch AI-powered products that address real market needs. As a Pod Founder, you will identify a problem worth solving, validate it with paying customers in weeks, and build and sell the solution with a small dedicated team. This is a player-coach position for someone who wants the founder experience with backing already in place—no fundraising, no building distribution from zero.

You will be paired with a Builder, supported by an operating team, and given resources to move fast. The role reports to the President, New Markets and operates with clear stage-gates and accountability for commercial results.

Responsibilities

• Find and validate a problem worth building a business around, bringing founder-level conviction and customer evidence within the first weeks
• Get in front of real customers immediately, score the problem and solution honestly, and earn the gate to build
• Author product specs, context documents, and customer findings; work hands-on with your Builder and in the code when it's the fastest path
• Set what gets built and why, balancing design sensibility with commercial viability
• Land the first pilot, prove customers will pay, and drive to general availability with paying customers beyond the pilot
• Own your pod's profit and loss, hit stage-gates, and make the call to pivot or persist based on evidence
• Work across product, sales, marketing, and support without waiting for a function to handle it for you

What We're Looking For

• A builder's instinct and commercial mind in the same person—design and engineering sensibility paired with a feel for what customers will actually pay for
• Evidence you've shipped something real and put it in front of customers, ideally something you started or owned
• The judgment to operate across disciplines and the range to build and sell well enough that a two-person team is genuinely sufficient
• A bias for the customer over process or org chart
• Prior startup or zero-to-one experience preferred; a track record of finishing is essential
• Speed over polish—you validate with real customers in weeks, not quarters
• Conviction you can defend, and the humility to change direction the moment a customer proves you wrong
• Comfort with go/no-go gates and the reality that your pod can be folded or consolidated at a checkpoint
• Ownership of outcomes, not hours—you define scope, defend it, and answer for results
