Senior Security Engineer I, Customer Trust EMEA (Remote Eligible in the UK)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead customer trust operations across EMEA. This is a remote role based in the UK, reporting to senior leadership in the US.

Our client's enterprise customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa require sophisticated security assessment support, deep compliance expertise, and rapid response to vendor risk inquiries. You'll serve as the regional expert for security questionnaires, vendor assessments, and customer-facing security engagement—building trusted relationships with enterprise accounts while ensuring technical credibility across diverse regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead questionnaire triage, completion, and queue management for EMEA customer security assessments
• Respond to customer security questionnaires, vendor risk assessments, and RFIs with technical accuracy and regional compliance awareness
• Partner closely with EMEA sales teams to support enterprise deals requiring security review
• Maintain expertise in regional compliance requirements including GDPR, EU data protection frameworks, and sector-specific standards
• Manage multiple concurrent customer interactions while tracking SLAs and delivery timelines
• Provide clear technical security explanations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Build and maintain the organization's reputation for responsiveness and security credibility in EMEA markets

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of experience in customer trust, vendor risk management, security assessment, or customer-facing security roles at SaaS or cloud platform companies
• Proven track record completing and responding to customer security questionnaires, vendor assessments, and RFIs
• Strong understanding of GDPR, EU data protection, and regional compliance requirements—particularly data residency, data processing agreements, and DPIAs
• Working knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GRC frameworks commonly referenced in EMEA assessments
• Solid technical security foundation: cloud architecture, access controls, encryption, incident response, and data handling best practices
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to adapt style for different audiences
• Queue and project management skills using ticketing systems and SLA tracking
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Preferred:

• Fluency in an additional European language with ability to respond to technical security questions in multiple languages
• Professional security certifications: CISSP, CCSK, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
• Background in SaaS customer trust or security operations within European companies
• Experience with industry-specific EMEA compliance requirements (financial services, healthcare, government contracting)
• Familiarity with questionnaire management and vendor risk platforms (Targhee, OneTrust, SAFE, or similar)
