Accountant, Cyprus

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking an Accountant to join their Cyprus-based finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of a regulated entity, owning critical workflows including journal entries, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. This is a remote opportunity that requires strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with Cyprus regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own daily operational accounting activities, including recording journal entries, preparing supporting schedules, and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
• Execute daily reconciliation reporting and periodic regulatory submissions required by CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, and applicable investment firm frameworks
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and engineering teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial reporting
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, analysis, and timely responses within your areas of responsibility
• Drive data analysis against business drivers to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to strengthen accounting operations

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance within a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF), Big Four firm, or financial services/fintech company
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, ACA, or CPA) preferred
• CySEC certifications (Advanced and/or AML Certificate) are a plus
• Demonstrated working knowledge of IFRS, with hands-on experience applying IFRS standards to operational accounting and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite and FloQast, with advanced Excel skills applied to reconciliations and financial analysis
• Familiarity with CySEC and CIF regulatory reporting requirements, including the ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance to accounting processes
• Experience utilizing generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency
