We're seeking a highly analytical Actuarial Analyst to join a structured rotational program that provides exposure to multiple actuarial disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career actuarial professionals to build a comprehensive understanding of Medicare Advantage while developing technical expertise across financial forecasting, reserving, medical economics, pricing, and risk adjustment.
This role is ideal for candidates who thrive on complex problem-solving, working with large healthcare datasets, and using quantitative analysis to influence strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative analyses supporting financial forecasting, medical cost analysis, revenue optimization, reserving, pricing, risk adjustment, and value-based care initiatives
- Develop and maintain analytical models using actuarial principles, statistical methods, and large healthcare datasets to evaluate financial performance and identify trends
- Partner with actuaries and cross-functional leaders to analyze operational and financial performance, investigate emerging trends, and develop data-driven recommendations
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive presentations that communicate complex analytical findings to support business planning and performance monitoring
- Support enterprise financial planning by analyzing medical costs, revenue drivers, risk adjustment performance, utilization trends, and other key business metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and automate analyses using SQL, Excel, Python, and other analytical tools
- Participate in rotational assignments across multiple actuarial disciplines to develop broad business knowledge and technical expertise
- Support special projects and innovation initiatives focused on healthcare affordability, operational performance, and financial results
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in healthcare finance, analytics, actuarial, consulting, strategy, operations, or a related field
- Successful completion of one or more Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams
- Strong SQL and Excel skills
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with experience working with large datasets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable business insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Medicare Advantage, managed care, or value-based healthcare
- Proficiency with Python, R, AI tools, Github, and business intelligence platforms
