Technical Project Manager / IT Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Technical Project Manager / IT Infrastructure Engineer to manage projects and operational changes within their data center environment in Béthune, Pas-de-Calais. In this role, you will oversee the execution of infrastructure projects involving GPU servers, high-speed networking, and compute and storage systems, serving as a critical link between stakeholders, project teams, and technical staff.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects and change requests in data center environments
• Proactively identifying and resolving technical and operational issues
• Managing risks and dependencies in live production environments
• Maintaining clear operational documentation, including project plans, risk logs, and issue trackers
• Leading stakeholder communication by providing regular progress updates, escalating blockers, and managing expectations
• Facilitating meetings and technical discussions with a focus on decision-making and timely execution
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization
• Engaging directly with data center engineers, vendors, and operations teams
• Participating in automation initiatives, process improvements, and design support as needed

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a candidate with proven experience in data center infrastructure operations, ideally within high-performance or AI-oriented environments. The ideal candidate will have:

• Solid understanding of data center design and operations, including racking, cabling, power planning, and cooling considerations
• Hands-on experience working with IT hardware in data center environments
• Comfort working in data center environments during live operations
• Experience in project delivery, team management, and cross-team collaboration
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical and workflow issues across IT infrastructure
• Ability to document processes, maintain tracking systems, and produce clear deployment reports
• Proactive, responsible, and purposeful approach to work
• Availability for occasional business travel

Bonus qualifications:

• Familiarity with structured project management or delivery frameworks such as PRINCE2, PMI, or Agile methodologies
• Relevant technical certifications
• In-depth technical knowledge of GPU servers, compute nodes, and high-speed networking
