About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking Biology experts in France for a remote contract engagement. Our client develops training data for advanced AI systems and needs subject matter experts who can design rigorous, verifiable scientific problems.
This is a part-time contract role (approximately 20 hours per week) with an initial 2-month duration and strong potential for extension. You'll work remotely, creating challenging biology problems that test frontier AI reasoning capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design advanced biology problems with deterministic, verifiable solutions
- Create tasks that reflect authentic scientific and analytical workflows
- Develop problems spanning molecular biology, genetics, systems biology, computational biology, or bioinformatics
- Submit complete, verified solutions with rigorous documentation
- Build problems involving experimental reasoning, biological systems analysis, and computational workflows
- Apply Python and specialized bioinformatics tools where relevant
- Maintain high standards of reproducibility and technical clarity
What We're Looking For
- Master's or PhD in Biology or related life sciences discipline
- Research or industry experience with computational or quantitative biological analysis
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with data analysis or bioinformatics workflows preferred
- Strong multi-step scientific reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Capacity to create original, difficult problems grounded in real biological practice
- Clear written English and exceptional attention to detail
- Bonus: experience with bioinformatics toolkits, genomics workflows, structural biology tools, or computational biology methods
- Bonus: background designing technical assessments or scientific challenge problems
