About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Chemistry Expert for a remote contract engagement based in France. This is a part-time role requiring 10–20 hours per week over an initial 2-month period, with potential for extension.

Our client creates specialized training data for advanced AI systems. You'll design rigorous, deterministic chemistry problems that test deep domain knowledge and computational reasoning—work that directly supports evaluation workflows at leading research labs.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging chemistry problems that reflect authentic scientific workflows
• Create deterministic tasks with single verifiable correct answers and complete solution paths
• Develop reasoning-intensive problems grounded in computational rigor
• Utilize Python and domain-specific chemistry tools or simulation packages where appropriate
• Ensure all tasks are reproducible, technically precise, and clearly documented
• Write concise, rigorous technical explanations in English

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry or closely related field
• Research or industry experience with computational or quantitative chemistry workflows
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with scientific libraries
• Deep understanding of modeling, numerical approaches, and chemical reasoning
• Ability to design original, difficult problems beyond textbook-level material
• Excellent attention to detail and clear technical writing ability

Preferred:

• Experience with computational chemistry, cheminformatics, spectroscopy analysis, molecular modeling, or specialized chemistry software
• Professional chemistry workflows involving simulation or data analysis tools
• Background creating technical evaluation or assessment content
