Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity technology organization seeking a Senior Analytics / Data Engineer to own their Enterprise Data Platform end-to-end. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on analytics engineering—modeling, data quality, observability, and governance—with enough data engineering capability to maintain ingestion pipelines and a BI mindset to help teams translate data into actionable insights.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Model and transform data using dbt, implementing staging through marts architecture with clean, maintainable code
  • Own data quality, reliability, and observability through comprehensive testing, monitoring, alerting, and code reviews
  • Maintain the data catalog and governance framework to ensure data remains discoverable, documented, and trusted across the organization
  • Build and maintain dashboards that provide clear visibility into KPIs for cross-functional teams
  • Maintain and scale ingestion pipelines bringing data from external APIs and sources into the warehouse
  • Investigate and resolve pipeline issues to ensure end-to-end platform reliability
  • Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, Support, and People teams to define metrics and support decision-making
  • Enable self-serve analytics capabilities for teams across the organization
  • Conduct technical research and continuously improve platform architecture and tooling

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with strong analytics engineering fundamentals and the versatility to work across the full data stack:

  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering with deep hands-on expertise in dbt, including modeling, testing, data quality, observability, and governance in production environments
  • Experience with ingestion and orchestration pipelines using Airflow, Airbyte, or equivalent tools—sufficient to maintain, debug, and resolve issues independently
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, ingestion, and scripting
  • Cross-functional mindset with strong communication skills and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
  • Strong autonomy and end-to-end ownership capability—able to independently drive scoped projects from ingestion through consumption
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including version control, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD
  • Product-oriented approach focused on data quality, usability, and real business outcomes

Valuable bonus experience:

  • Building AI agents to enhance data accessibility through natural-language querying or agentic assistants
  • Familiarity with LLM/agent stacks including tool calling and integration frameworks
  • Experience working fully remote in async-first cultures
  • Background in the cybersecurity industry
