Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization based in Bulgaria. We're seeking a detail-oriented Reconciliation & Payments Specialist to join their Billing & Collections team in a fully remote capacity.

This is a hands-on role where you'll take complete ownership of payment reconciliation across a diverse customer base. You'll be the person who ensures every payment is properly matched, every discrepancy is investigated, and nothing falls through the cracks. Responsibilities

• Reconcile customer payments against invoices across the full customer base, from small merchants to large enterprise accounts
• Match every incoming payment to the corresponding invoice and close the loop on all transactions
• Investigate unmatched, partial, or unexpected items down to root cause—don't leave gaps open
• Track outstanding customer balances and follow up persistently until debts are fully resolved, including items that extend past month-end
• Maintain clear, well-documented working papers so reconciliation paths are transparent and auditable
• Perform heavy data analysis in Excel using pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas across large datasets
• Pull and cross-check data across multiple systems where information is often incomplete or inconsistent
• Communicate clearly with internal teams (Finance, Operations, Customer Success) via Slack, project management tools, and email
• When necessary, engage directly with customers on calls to walk them through billing or reconciliation issues
• Identify manual, repetitive processes and work toward making them smarter using AI tools over time

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in reconciliation, collections, billing, or accounts receivable—ideally in fintech, SaaS, or eCommerce
• Genuine ownership mindset—you take responsibility for your accounts and don't consider something done until it's truly resolved
• Persistence—you stay on unpaid or unreconciled items until they're closed, even well after month-end
• Strong Excel skills—comfortable with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and working with large datasets
• Critical eye for data—you instinctively verify rather than assume, especially when working across systems with broken or inconsistent information
• Exceptional attention to detail—you notice when two numbers don't agree and won't rest until you've worked the discrepancy down to zero
• Highly responsive—comfortable working across multiple communication channels and able to field requests efficiently
• Clear communicator—able to explain complex reconciliation or billing issues in plain language to non-finance colleagues and customers
• Interest in automation—curious about using AI tools to reduce manual effort over time (prior automation experience not required)
• Native or near-native English—professional written and verbal communication skills
• Customer relationship skills—comfortable working with customers of all sizes, from small businesses to enterprise accounts
• Familiarity with chargebacks, payment disputes, or payment service provider data is a plus
