Finance & Operations Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing B2B SaaS company that is redefining how revenue teams operate through AI-driven automation. With strong customer adoption and rapid growth, our client is building the financial and operational infrastructure needed to scale efficiently. We're seeking a Finance & Operations Lead to own the company's financial engine, reporting systems, and core operational workflows.

This is a senior, hands-on role for a builder-operator who thrives in high-growth environments. You'll report directly to the CEO, work across all functions, and take full ownership of results. This isn't a conventional back-office finance role—it's an opportunity to build AI-native systems that remove manual work and create scalable foundations for growth.

Responsibilities

Finance and Reporting:

• Own budget, rolling forecast, cash management, runway, and scenario planning
• Run fast, accurate monthly close cycles with external accounting partners
• Produce clear management and board reporting that explains performance and drives decisions
• Build trusted views of ARR, bookings, retention, gross margin, burn, headcount, and unit economics
• Oversee billing, collections, payroll coordination, expenses, procurement, and vendor management
• Implement practical controls for fundraising readiness, audit, tax, and diligence

AI, Automation, and Systems:

• Redesign recurring workflows using AI agents, automation tools, APIs, and lightweight code
• Build dependable operating systems with clean data, exception handling, and audit trails
• Create self-serve workflows that reduce dependency on manual routing
• Measure automation impact through speed, accuracy, reporting latency, and hours saved
• Ensure safe AI usage with sensitive data and high-stakes decisions

Company Operations:

• Own company operating cadence including planning, KPI reviews, and decision follow-through
• Build scalable workflows for purchasing, contracts, onboarding, offboarding, and access management
• Improve cross-functional processes while maintaining clear ownership
• Hold external partners accountable for scope, service, cost, and quality
• Step into critical gaps, then build systems to prevent recurrence

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience in finance, business operations, or combined roles at scaling B2B SaaS or technology companies
• Hands-on ownership of planning, forecasting, management reporting, cash, runway, and board materials
• Track record of building operating systems, not just administering existing processes
• Strong data and spreadsheet skills with ability to connect information across systems
• AI-native working style with experience using AI to analyze, draft, reconcile, monitor, and automate
• Sound commercial judgment and exceptional communication skills
• Ability to explain complex issues simply and challenge senior stakeholders constructively
• High-ownership, low-ego operator comfortable moving between strategic and detailed execution
• Experience working across Finance, Sales, Product, Engineering, and other functions in fast-paced environments

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience in scale-up finance, finance transformation, consulting, or accounting followed by operating roles
• Professional accounting qualification
• Experience with UK and US entities, subscription revenue, fundraising, or finance automation
• Early-stage startup or lean, high-growth environment experience
• Passion for AI-native products and agent-driven workflows
