About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential MarTech consultancy seeking a Director of AI & Automation to join their senior management team. This is a rare opportunity to own technology strategy and AI transformation end-to-end for an organization that has been working with AI and machine learning for years and is now professionalizing these capabilities at scale.

You will hold a genuine seat at the management table with full ownership of technical and architectural decisions. This role goes beyond implementation—you will define how AI translates into revenue, market positioning, and client delivery excellence. The foundation is already in place; what's needed now is a strategic leader to take it to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Own all technical and architectural decisions across internal systems and client-facing technology stack
• Design and drive the organization's AI-first strategy, from internal tooling to enterprise service offerings
• Build and codify AI-first productized services including methodology, pricing, and delivery models
• Lead client engagements on MarTech architecture, including integrations with CRM and other enterprise systems
• Embed AI into delivery practice through tooling, playbooks, and governance frameworks
• Enable and upskill consulting and delivery teams on AI tooling and methodology
• Roll out internal AI tooling across teams with clear adoption targets
• Represent the organization's AI positioning externally through speaking engagements and thought leadership content
• Work in close collaboration with management on overall strategy, consulting alignment, and market positioning

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience owning technology strategy and architecture at senior or principal level, ideally in consulting, agency, or MarTech environments
• Degree in Business Informatics, Mathematics, Digitalization, Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives and driving process automation with strong project management background
• Deep, hands-on familiarity with AI/LLM tooling and how to operationalize it in real delivery settings
• Technical understanding and ideally programming skills (e.g., Python) and API/interface integration experience
• Expertise in data structures and data management
• Experience with Adobe B2B marketing stack, particularly Marketo and AJO
• Analytical thinking with structured, solution-oriented approach
• Strong communicator credible in front of clients, teams, and at industry events; able to bridge business and IT
• Self-driven with genuine enthusiasm for pushing change forward
• Fluent English required; German is a strong plus but not mandatory
• Based in Europe
