Senior Java Fullstack Developer mit technischem Fokus (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public sector technology organization in Germany that is driving digital transformation at scale. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Java Fullstack Developer to join a large-scale project supporting critical government IT infrastructure. This role focuses on developing orchestration systems that coordinate business processes across multiple platforms.

This position is based in Kaarst, Nordrhein-Westfalen, with remote work flexibility and occasional on-site meetings (approximately once monthly).

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance backend components using Java (17/21) and Spring Boot
• Design and implement cross-system processes and integrate them into existing enterprise landscapes
• Build components for data processing and transformation within large, distributed systems
• Coordinate with technical stakeholders and project teams in a primarily remote environment
• Architect technical solutions for application monitoring and control, including backend services supporting UI components
• Conduct developer testing and ensure software quality standards
• Maintain, support, and continuously optimize existing software components
• Create technical documentation including operations and interface specifications

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 10 years of practical experience in Java development with strong knowledge of modern software architectures
• Advanced expertise in Spring/Spring Boot and experience developing scalable backend systems
• Proven experience designing microservices, distributed systems, and highly available architectures
• Practical experience developing frameworks or libraries in the Java ecosystem
• Experience with Camunda (BPMN) and modeling complex business processes
• Strong knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or AMQ
• Solid database skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL, plus ORM experience with Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with REST and SOAP interfaces, XML/JSON processing, and standard web service protocols
• Comfortable working with Linux systems and basic shell scripting
• Structured, analytical working style with high quality standards in software development
• Experience in the public sector or complex enterprise environments is advantageous
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken (C1 level required)
