About This Opportunity
We are representing a leading healthcare system in their search for a Clinical Quality Leader I. Our client operates multiple facilities across the United States and is committed to advancing patient safety and clinical excellence through data-driven quality improvement initiatives.
This role sits at the intersection of clinical practice and performance improvement, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to identify, measure, and resolve quality and patient safety issues. You'll apply improvement methodologies including DMAIC, Lean, and root cause analysis to drive measurable outcomes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operational and medical leadership to develop and implement communication, education, and process solutions that engage staff and improve clinical outcomes
- Partner with medical staff leadership to select measures for Ongoing and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE/FPPE)
- Coordinate peer review cases for department meetings and quality committees, assisting leadership with completion of peer review documentation
- Perform medical record reviews and data analysis to identify quality improvement opportunities in patient care services
- Lead or participate in local, regional, and system-level committees, multidisciplinary improvement projects, and Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs)
- Facilitate committee meetings, including development of committee structure, minutes, reports, dashboards, and related correspondence
- Research and develop quality measurement, evaluation, and improvement approaches
- Contribute to organizational learning through publication, presentation, and collaboration with clinical colleagues
- Apply professional clinical knowledge, best practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration to advance problem analysis and creative process redesign
- Assist clinical teams in responding to quality-related queries from patients, families, payers, and other external constituencies
- Ensure compliance with quality and process improvement regulatory and accreditation requirements
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with a clinical background, or Master's degree in a healthcare-related field
- 2+ years of work experience in a healthcare setting
- 1+ year of quality, patient safety, or relevant experience
- Medical record review and abstraction experience
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, electronic medical records, and clinical databases
- Strong leadership, facilitation, collaboration, and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent writing, presentation, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of quality and patient safety principles, quality measures and measurement, relevant statistical tools, and improvement methodologies (RCA, FMEA, DMAIC)
- Familiarity with major sources of measures, literature, and quality/patient safety-related federal and state policy
Preferred:
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)
- Other evidence of advanced commitment to quality and patient safety
