Senior Software Engineer (Stream Processing)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization in their search for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in stream processing. This role is based in Berlin and offers the opportunity to build mission-critical event-processing pipelines that directly impact revenue systems.

You'll be working on systems that process continuous streams of usage events where correctness and failure recovery are paramount. Every event matters financially—ensuring accurate processing without loss or duplication is core to the role.

Responsibilities

• Build stateful streaming pipelines that compute billed consumption in near real time
• Develop and operate Go services that ingest usage events, move data between storage systems, and deliver consumption data through APIs and exports
• Guarantee correctness under failures through idempotency, exactly-once processing, and reconciliation mechanisms
• Operate transactional storage, persistent queues, and change data capture systems under high throughput
• Build reusable streaming infrastructure rather than solving each use case independently
• Improve reliability, scalability, latency, and observability of the billing platform
• Take end-to-end ownership of your systems from design through implementation, reliability, and deployment

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Professional experience building and operating backend, streaming, or data-intensive systems
• Ability to reason about consistency and data correctness under failure scenarios
• Experience with databases, messaging systems, or event-processing platforms
• Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems and solve problems without predefined solutions
• Willingness to learn new technologies within the team's stack

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with stateful stream-processing frameworks such as Apache Flink or Kafka Streams
• Experience designing streaming pipelines
• Go development experience
• Experience operating services in Kubernetes

Technology stack includes: Go, Python, Apache Flink, transactional databases, messaging and event-streaming systems, and Kubernetes.
