Global Product Director

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential direct-to-consumer organization in their search for a Global Product Director based in Frankfurt. In this role, you will:

• Own category management and product development, including range architecture, category prioritization, lifecycle management, and pricing logic
• Build and lead a high-performing, cross-functional product organization with 6 direct reports and approximately 65 team members across category management and product development
• Build and execute a product strategy to position the brand as a global leader in its category across online and offline channels
• Lead physical product development, including materials selection, manufacturing processes, supplier relationships, and cost structures
• Ground all product decisions in deep consumer understanding to drive satisfaction, brand preference, and word-of-mouth marketing
• Design a product architecture that balances global consistency with meaningful local market differences
• Act as a senior leader reporting directly to executive leadership and contributing to company strategy and cross-functional decisions
• Manage P&L considerations, defend margin, manage complexity, and prevent range proliferation
• Build processes and accountability structures that make the product organization predictable and high-performing
• Develop a strong layer of senior product leaders and invest in succession planning and capability-building

What We're Looking For

• 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3–4 years in a senior leadership role leading other team leaders
• Deep expertise in category management, including assortment strategy, range architecture, pricing logic, and portfolio decision-making
• Hands-on experience in physical product development, including materials, manufacturing, supplier relationships, and cost structures
• Background in branded consumer goods with proprietary R&D (not retail-only or pure trading environments)
• Operationally deep and comfortable leading through doing, not just directing
• Proven decision-maker under ambiguity, with the ability to provide clarity when stakeholders pull in different directions
• Experience working at scale in organizations with 1,000+ people, multi-market, and multi-category operations
• Strong cross-functional collaborator who sees product as a platform for company-wide impact
