Senior Analyst – MENA focus

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential decision intelligence organization seeking a Senior Analyst with deep expertise in the Middle East and North Africa region. Our client provides critical intelligence to government, defense, and corporate clients operating in complex geopolitical environments. This is a London-based role for an analyst who lives and breathes MENA politics, security dynamics, and violent extremist movements.

Responsibilities

As Senior Analyst, you will lead intelligence collection and production across the MENA region:

• Monitor and assess political, security, and socio-economic developments across MENA, including state and non-state actors, regional diplomacy, and geopolitical risk
• Conduct daily monitoring of Arabic- and English-language media, including news outlets, social media platforms, official statements, and open-source information environments
• Track violent extremist organization (VEO) and non-state armed group activity, including organizational developments, propaganda, communications, governance dynamics, and operational activity
• Identify emerging narratives, actors, platforms, and threats across online ecosystems
• Lead and contribute to daily, weekly, monthly, flash, and deep-dive analytical reporting with particular focus on MENA and VEOs
• Translate and assess Arabic-language documents and source material
• Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise across designated countries, actors, organizations, and thematic areas
• Lead source coverage for the region, identifying and verifying new actors, entities, channels, and outlets for inclusion in research ecosystems
• Support quality assurance of analytical outputs and mentor junior analysts on research methodology and analytical standards
• Help develop research methodologies, monitoring frameworks, and analytical processes to improve team efficiency and product quality

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• At least five years of professional experience in intelligence analysis, geopolitical risk, disinformation analysis, international security, or related field
• Strong subject-matter knowledge of the MENA region, including key political and security actors and regional dynamics
• Working understanding of VEOs, their online ecosystems, communications strategies, and operational activity, built through direct analytical experience
• Fluency in written Arabic across Modern Standard Arabic and local dialects, including slang, with ability to monitor, analyze, and translate Arabic-language content from diverse sources
• Demonstrable experience applying structured analytical methodologies to complex information environments, including OSINT, network analysis, narrative analysis, or sentiment analysis
• Strong written communication skills with track record of producing concise, high-quality intelligence outputs under tight deadlines
• Hands-on experience curating source coverage: identifying and verifying online sources, assessing affiliation, and maintaining structured datasets
• Experience proofreading, editing, and quality-assuring analytical products
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while managing multiple concurrent workstreams
• Ability to distinguish meaningful developments from high-volume information flows
• Comfort integrating AI systems into workflow to improve outputs and efficiency
• Strong understanding of legal and ethical considerations surrounding intelligence collection, open-source research, and data handling

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience leading analysis on international security, violent extremism, terrorism, or state- and non-state-aligned influence and disinformation ecosystems
• Demonstrable experience researching VEOs and extremist online activity across platforms including Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, RocketChat, and TikTok
• Experience with data science, AI-enabled research tools, or advanced OSINT platforms
• Proficiency in additional relevant languages such as French, Farsi, Turkish, Kurdish, or Russian
• Experience developing analytical methodologies, research frameworks, monitoring requirements, or data schemas and taxonomies
• Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading small analytical projects

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £58,000 – £63,000 per annum

Benefits include private medical health insurance, enhanced pension package, £500/year education budget with manager approval for larger items like conferences, and 33 days of leave inclusive of bank holidays.
