About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential distribution organization in a search for a Labor Management Engineer. This role focuses on optimizing workforce utilization, establishing labor standards, and driving operational efficiency across multiple branch locations. You'll partner with operations leaders to analyze performance data, implement continuous improvement methodologies, and create sustainable solutions that enhance productivity and associate experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze labor utilization, productivity metrics, and operational performance to identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct time and motion studies to establish accurate, repeatable labor standards
- Develop and maintain labor management systems, workforce tracking tools, and performance reporting processes
- Evaluate facility layouts and workflows, recommending solutions that improve efficiency and service levels
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and optimize operations
- Partner with operations teams to drive adoption of labor standards, best practices, and standard operating procedures
- Lead productivity improvement initiatives by coordinating cross-functional stakeholders
- Create analyses, reports, and recommendations that support data-driven decision-making
- Ensure labor measurement methodologies and reporting processes remain consistent and sustainable
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline
- 2-5 years of experience in labor management, industrial engineering, or operations analysis
- Demonstrated experience analyzing operational data and workforce utilization trends
- Experience conducting time studies and developing labor standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and workforce management systems
- Strong data analysis skills with ability to resolve inconsistencies and anomalies in complex datasets
- Lean Practitioner, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
- Experience with facility layout optimization and workflow design initiatives preferred
- Ability to work independently with periodic guidance on complex issues
- Willingness to travel overnight 20-50% of the time
