Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential autonomous vehicle technology client in their search for a Principal Technical Lead Manager to lead their web visualization tooling team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical direction of data visualization systems that directly impact machine learning engineering workflows and product development in the AV space.

In this role, you'll lead a distributed engineering team building mission-critical web applications that enable engineers and internal users to work with complex autonomous driving data. You'll own the technical roadmap, drive cross-functional collaboration, and architect scalable frontend systems using modern frameworks.

This position offers flexibility: hybrid work from Boston, Pittsburgh, or Las Vegas, or fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a visualization engineering team working in both office and remote environments
  • Partner with product leadership to ensure the data products roadmap includes necessary visualization investments
  • Drive cross-team standards and best practices for web development across the organization
  • Own cross-team collaboration, ensuring on-time and effective deliveries
  • Architect and scale a modern frontend ecosystem using React, TypeScript, and Vue
  • Collaborate with ML engineers, frontend developers, UX designers, data services, data mining, and data annotation teams
  • Build mission-critical UI systems for data-heavy workflows serving internal customers
  • Design intuitive experiences for complex data visualization needs
  • Establish best practices around performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Ship iteratively in a fast-paced, product-driven environment

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in hybrid and remote settings
  • Track record of scoping projects, creating work breakdowns, and tracking development progress
  • Passion for designing and building user-facing visual applications with strong UX sensibilities
  • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture
  • Proficiency in Vue
  • Strong product sense with focus on usability and user experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
  • High aptitude for learning and exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to mentor and delegate to engineers at various levels
  • Established success in technical design and documentation
  • Capability to work directly with internal customers to identify needs and deliver solutions

Preferred:

  • Project management expertise with hands-on understanding of agile methodologies
  • Commitment to continuous delivery of value
  • Exposure to backend systems (Node, Python)
  • Experience in game development or 3D visualization

Pay

This role offers competitive compensation. Our client's base salary range for this position is $176,000–$242,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonus and equity. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, health savings accounts, life insurance, and more.
