Senior Rollout Manager (f/m/x) – DACH

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector. This senior leadership position oversees the complete rollout lifecycle of high-power charging locations across the DACH region, working remotely from Germany.

You will take full ownership of a portfolio of charging site implementations from planning through operational handover. Your scope includes rollout planning, site preparation, construction, commissioning, acceptance testing, and transfer to operations teams.

• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex infrastructure projects across multiple sites in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with particular focus on the most strategically important or technically challenging locations
• Translate rollout objectives into integrated site and portfolio implementation plans, defining priorities, sequencing, milestones, dependencies, and governance frameworks
• Lead cross-functional execution across planning, permitting, construction, grid connection, logistics, and commissioning—driving timely decisions and actively managing critical interfaces between civil works, electrical systems, grid connection, hardware installation, testing, and go-live
• Directly manage external engineering firms, contractors, installation companies, and implementation partners, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring contracted outcomes are delivered
• Own portfolio risk, change, and action management—identifying critical risks early, defining mitigation measures, and leading recovery plans for delayed, blocked, or significantly off-track sites while protecting quality, safety, and compliance
• Make decisions within your delegated authority and prepare clear decision papers for senior stakeholders when escalation is required, presenting viable options, impacts, and recommendations while balancing schedule, cost, quality, technical feasibility, and stakeholder requirements
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with regulatory authorities, grid operators, landowners, local stakeholders, and implementation partners, representing our client professionally in complex negotiations and resolving permitting, grid connection, land access, construction, and other implementation obstacles pragmatically
• Deliver concise, decision-oriented reporting to senior stakeholders on progress, forecast dates, forecast confidence, material risks, cost and commercial exposure, partner performance, recovery actions, and required decisions to keep the portfolio on track
• Establish and continuously improve rollout standards, governance routines, templates, and implementation guides based on lessons learned, increasing predictability, quality, scalability, and delivery effectiveness across the network

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading delivery of complex infrastructure, construction, energy, mobility, telecommunications, or comparable multi-site rollout programs—ideally in electric vehicle charging infrastructure
• Track record of taking outcome accountability across the full implementation lifecycle, not just individual project tasks or work packages
• Strong expertise in program and project controls, including integrated planning, risk management, dependency management, change control, and senior-level reporting
• Experience managing external partners and influencing internal stakeholders in a matrix organization—you show up confidently, constructively challenge existing approaches, make decisions, and escalate when necessary
• Solid practical understanding of interfaces between site development, permitting planning, civil engineering, electrical engineering, grid connection, commissioning, and operational handover
• Clear, structured communication in both German and English
• Valid driver's license and willingness to collaborate regularly with teams at site locations
• Team player who delivers high-quality work under time pressure

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience implementing EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy installations, or other decentralized, customer-facing infrastructure
• Established working relationships with authorities, grid operators, landowners, and construction partners in one or more DACH markets
• Experience interfacing with high-voltage or electrical infrastructure and with commissioning and handover into an operational network
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills or comparable project control tools
• Relevant university degree, technical qualification, or comparable professional experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or a related field
