Maven Java Support Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential public health technology organization in their search for a Maven Java Support Engineer. Our client provides critical disease surveillance and outbreak management solutions used by government agencies to track and manage public health crises. This is a remote position based in the United States, offering the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts community health and safety.

Responsibilities

As the first and second level of technical support, you will:

• Provide direct technical software assistance to clients and participate in regular issue tracking and ticket review meetings
• Resolve production support issues including ticket resolution, fixes, and change request builds
• Manage software release migrations, builds, and implementations
• Handle escrow packaging and delivery, software security scans, and code reviews
• Utilize Jira issue tracking system to manage support issues within defined Service Level Agreements
• Collaborate closely with core engineers and quality assurance testing teams
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
• Provide after-hours phone support coverage as needed based on business requirements
• Travel to client or company sites as required

What We're Looking For

Required Technical Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Software Development and 4+ years of experience in Java Software Development, or equivalent work experience
• Strong proficiency in JAVA/J2EE
• SQL and Relational Databases (Oracle, MSQL, PostgreSQL)
• JavaScript and related technologies (HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Ajax)
• XML

Helpful Additional Knowledge:

• App Servers (Tomcat, Websphere, AWS, Azure)
• Development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
• Enterprise software experience; public health industry knowledge is a plus
