Technical Analyst/Specialist – Databricks Platform (all humans)

About This Position

We're seeking an accomplished technical professional to play a pivotal role in the growth and operational excellence of our Databricks data platform. You'll work at the intersection of business stakeholders, data teams, platform engineers, and technical architects—translating complex business challenges into clear, actionable technical requirements. Your mission is to ensure that our Databricks platform delivers measurable value while maintaining security, scalability, and cost efficiency. This role requires both analytical rigor and genuine curiosity about how data technology can solve real business problems.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Engage directly with Databricks platform users to understand their business objectives, technical challenges, and evolving data needs.
• Convert business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications that guide platform development and enhancement.
• Work alongside the Erste Databricks Platform team to prioritize, scope, and deliver high-impact user requests and data initiatives.
• Partner with data engineers, platform engineers, solution architects, security specialists, and business leaders to implement and optimize platform solutions.
• Design, document, and refine platform workflows, user adoption journeys, and operational runbooks.
• Lead onboarding efforts for new users, data products, and use cases, ensuring smooth integration with the Databricks ecosystem.
• Investigate technical issues, gather detailed requirements from stakeholders, and facilitate coordination with engineering teams to resolve problems efficiently.
• Champion platform improvements focused on data governance, lifecycle management, cost optimization, and operational resilience.
• Create and maintain comprehensive platform documentation, internal knowledge bases, and shared best-practice guidelines.
• Monitor platform usage to ensure alignment with company standards, data governance policies, and security protocols.
• Track emerging trends in AI, analytics, and modern data platforms to identify new opportunities for organizational value.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in cloud data platforms, data engineering, or analytics infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and hands-on experience with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (e.g., Terraform).
• Solid foundational skills in SQL and Python, with the ability to review and understand data pipelines and transformations.
• Familiarity with modern data governance frameworks, data cataloging, or data quality practices.
• Excellent analytical abilities and the capacity to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and manage competing priorities across multiple business units.
• A proactive mindset and genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and skill development.
