Smedley Group seeks a skilled Hub Mechanics technician to support our dynamic motorsport racing program based in Bushnell, Florida. This full-time position combines workshop maintenance with on-site technical support at racing events throughout the region.
What This Role Involves
You'll be central to keeping our competitive racing operation running smoothly. This role spans both the service facility and the racetrack—maintaining our electric race kart fleet, troubleshooting mechanical challenges in real-time, and ensuring every vehicle performs at the highest level. Smedley Group is actively growing its motorsport capabilities, and this position offers meaningful involvement in all dimensions of race vehicle management and event execution.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on electric race karts to keep the fleet dependable
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems quickly in competition conditions
- Travel to racing venues and provide field support during live competitive events
- Coordinate logistics for equipment transport, setup, and breakdown at racing locations
- Conduct pre-event inspections and verification to confirm all karts are safe and ready for racing
Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance and repair work
- Ability to diagnose technical problems and implement solutions independently
- Comfort working in fast-paced, deadline-driven competitive environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
- Willingness to travel regularly to racing events in the region
