Satellite Systems Engineer (SETA)

OMNI Consulting Solutions is hiring a Satellite Systems Engineer for our Chantilly, Virginia office to provide critical technical support on a national security space program. This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape the development and delivery of advanced satellite capabilities through embedded systems engineering and government partnership.

The Opportunity

The Government Program Office is building the next generation of space systems, and this role places you at the center of that mission. As a Satellite Systems Engineer, you will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to government stakeholders overseeing satellite development from concept through deployment. You'll work across orbital vehicles, mission payloads, and ground infrastructure, translating mission objectives into sound technical strategies while maintaining oversight of contractor execution. This is an embedded role—you'll sit within Government teams, contributing technical judgment that shapes program direction and ensures mission success in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as a core technical team member within the Government Program Office, supporting satellite system development, integration, and lifecycle management across all major subsystems.
• Provide on-site technical representation to monitor and advise on contractor engineering work, ensuring alignment with government requirements and technical standards.
• Translate operational mission needs and capability requirements into detailed technical specifications and system-level requirements.
• Define, oversee, and coordinate interfaces between satellite components and external systems, working across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
• Review and assess engineering models and technical products, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) deliverables and system documentation.
• Provide technical oversight of contractor compliance with program baselines, interface control documents, and engineering standards.
• Support integration, verification, validation, and test campaigns, including requirements traceability reviews and environmental testing protocols.
• Identify technical risks, support mitigation planning, and monitor program health and schedule impacts.
• Prepare technical assessments, briefing materials, and decision support documents for government leadership and program review boards.

Who We're Looking For

• Solid grounding in systems engineering methodologies and best practices.
• Hands-on experience on satellite development, acquisition, or integration programs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government offices, contractor teams, and technical specialists in a complex, dynamic environment.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required; polygraph desired.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and leadership audiences.
