What This Role Involves

You will work at the intersection of manufacturing operations and modern data architecture, collaborating with Data Enablement Leads, operational technology engineers, and manufacturing stakeholders to design and deploy connected industrial systems. Your focus will be on converting operational requirements into robust data architectures that enhance visibility, support better decision-making, and strengthen enterprise connectivity. This is ideal for someone with solid technical grounding in manufacturing systems and industrial data platforms who wants to develop expertise in contemporary approaches like Unified Namespace (UNS), Industrial DataOps, MQTT, and enterprise-scale data systems.

Core Duties

  • Support the design and deployment of Unified Namespace solutions, Industrial DataOps frameworks, and advanced industrial data systems
  • Convert manufacturing and operational requirements into practical data models and integration architectures
  • Build, configure, and manage industrial data products serving manufacturing, quality assurance, maintenance, and business intelligence functions
  • Architect data pipelines that securely connect operational technology systems with enterprise platforms and analytics tools
  • Execute data preparation, enrichment, validation, and governance protocols across the organisation
  • Set up and sustain industrial messaging brokers, event streaming infrastructure, data historians, and integration platforms
  • Partner with Data Enablement Leads, manufacturing operations teams, OT engineers, IT staff, and external implementation partners throughout project delivery
  • Contribute to establishing technical standards, operational best practices, and governance policies
  • Participate in testing, deployment, problem-solving, and continuous refinement of Data Enablement initiatives
  • Keep current with emerging technologies and industry advances in industrial data management and connected manufacturing

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical expertise in industrial data platforms, manufacturing systems architecture, and system integration
  • Working knowledge of Unified Namespace design principles and Industrial DataOps methodologies
  • Practical experience with industrial messaging protocols, particularly MQTT
  • Familiarity with data pipeline design, data transformation, and governance frameworks
  • Understanding of industrial data brokers, historians, and enterprise integration platforms
  • Strong communication skills for conveying technical concepts to both technical and operational audiences
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams spanning engineering, operations, and IT
  • Commitment to professional development and staying informed about industrial data management trends
