NineStar Connect – Installation & Repair Technician

Wabash Valley Power Alliance is seeking a Full Time Installation & Repair Technician for NineStar Connect in Greenfield, IN. This position offers hands-on technical work maintaining broadband and communication infrastructure that connects homes and businesses throughout the region.

About This Position

As an Installation & Repair Technician, you'll install, maintain, and repair broadband lines, fiber optic cables, and communication equipment serving customers in Greenfield and surrounding communities. Your work ensures reliable connectivity for residential and commercial clients across the service territory. You'll operate company vehicles, use specialized tools, and work at various heights and in different weather conditions to deliver quality service and customer satisfaction.

Core Duties

• Install broadband cables, fiber optic lines, and communication equipment at customer premises and infrastructure locations
• Troubleshoot and repair service faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
• Perform preventive maintenance on active lines and network infrastructure
• Test signal quality and verify proper equipment operation after installation or repair
• Document all work details, including installations, repairs, and equipment specifications
• Coordinate with customers to schedule service and explain technical solutions in accessible terms
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including fall protection and electrical safety procedures

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Current valid driver's license with safe driving record
• Physical ability to climb poles and towers, lift materials, and work extended hours in the field
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with tools and diagnostic equipment
• Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the service area
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to work at heights and in all weather conditions
• Prior telecommunications, utility, or broadband installation experience valued
