Travoom is seeking a Senior Rust Developer and Mini Program Platform Architect to join our Engineering team in Austin, TX, US, in a full-time remote position. In this role, you'll architect and scale the platform that powers our mini program ecosystem, working with one of the industry's most performant languages to solve challenges in developer experience and platform reliability.
What This Role Involves
As the technical lead for our mini program platform, you'll design systems that balance ease of use with stability and performance. You'll own architectural decisions around protocol design, runtime execution, and the developer tools that shape how creators build on our ecosystem. This is hands-on—you'll write substantial Rust code while leading the engineering team through complex technical decisions and setting standards for platform development.
Your Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain core mini program platform components in Rust
- Design APIs and execution models that make the platform intuitive and performant for developers
- Lead technical reviews and mentor engineering team members on platform-scale decisions
- Optimize performance and reliability to support platform growth and user demand
- Partner with product and operations teams to prioritize platform evolution
- Develop and improve technical documentation and developer resources
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional Rust experience with demonstrated expertise in systems programming
- Background architecting distributed systems, infrastructure components, or similar platforms
- Strong grasp of performance optimization, concurrency models, and memory management
- Track record of technical mentorship and influencing engineering decisions
- Familiarity with mini programs, lightweight app environments, or comparable runtime platforms
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex systems clearly
