Position Summary
Spectrum Health Care is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support our financial management and reporting functions. In this full-time role, you'll play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance, and strategic decision-making across our Toronto operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Support budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed
- Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes
Skills & Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- CPA designation or progress towards professional accounting certification is an asset
