What This Role Involves

As a Lead Environmental Monitoring Inspector with SGS in Callao, you'll oversee environmental inspection activities and coordinate quality assurance programs across our operations. This position bridges field-based environmental testing with leadership duties, requiring you to conduct thorough environmental assessments, lead inspection teams, and ensure all monitoring activities meet regulatory requirements and SGS's rigorous quality standards. Your work will be instrumental in maintaining environmental compliance and protecting operational integrity in this key coastal location.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental monitoring inspections and field testing activities in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and industry standards
• Lead and supervise inspection teams to ensure quality assurance protocols are followed consistently and thoroughly
• Document inspection findings, prepare detailed inspection reports, and maintain comprehensive records of all testing activities and results
• Verify environmental compliance across all operational areas and identify opportunities for improvement and corrective action
• Collaborate with site personnel, management, and regulatory authorities to address environmental concerns and implement solutions
• Perform routine inspections, scheduled testing, and special environmental assessments as required
• Ensure field equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to established protocols

Requirements

• Proven experience in environmental inspection, monitoring, quality assurance, or related field testing roles
• Strong working knowledge of environmental compliance regulations, standards, and testing methodologies
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to coordinate and supervise inspection teams
• Proficiency with environmental monitoring equipment and field inspection protocols
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent documentation and reporting abilities
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in field-based environments while maintaining team oversight
• Fluency in Spanish; English proficiency required for technical documentation and communication
