The Opportunity
As a Senior DevOps Engineer focused on AWS and Site Reliability Engineering, you'll be at the intersection of software engineering and systems operations. You'll design scalable infrastructure, automate critical processes, and establish practices that prevent outages before they happen. This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact on how Renesas delivers reliability at scale, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping the technical culture of the platform engineering team.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and optimize AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid, reliable deployments
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and observability
- Lead incident response and post-incident analysis to drive continuous improvement
- Automate operational tasks using scripting languages and cloud-native tools
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of reliability and operational excellence
- Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability into software architecture
Who We're Looking For
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure management
- Deep expertise in Site Reliability Engineering practices and methodology
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, Go, or Bash)
- Proven experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience implementing and maintaining monitoring solutions and log aggregation
- Strong problem-solving ability and comfort with ambiguity
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
