As a full-time specialist in environmental air quality regulations, you'll lead complex compliance initiatives for organizations navigating the evolving landscape of federal, state, and local air quality standards.

Role Overview

This senior-level consulting role positions you to guide clients through air compliance challenges, from permitting and emissions monitoring to regulatory strategy and environmental remediation. You'll leverage your deep expertise in air quality regulations to deliver strategic advice on Clean Air Act compliance, state air quality programs, and industry-specific emissions requirements. Your work directly impacts how organizations across industries meet their environmental obligations and maintain operational sustainability in an increasingly regulated environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead air compliance assessments and develop comprehensive regulatory compliance strategies for diverse client portfolios
• Manage air permit applications, emissions inventory development, and regulatory correspondence with state and federal agencies
• Provide technical guidance on air quality monitoring, emissions quantification, and compliance documentation
• Mentor junior consultants and build client relationships through clear communication of complex regulatory requirements
• Stay current with regulatory changes and translate emerging standards into actionable client guidance
• Prepare compliance reports, regulatory filings, and technical memoranda supporting client operational and strategic decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a closely related field
• 7+ years of progressive experience in air quality compliance consulting or environmental permitting
• Demonstrated expertise in federal and state air quality regulations, including the Clean Air Act and state implementation plans
• Proven ability to lead client engagements, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality technical work products
• Strong technical writing, analytical, and project management skills
• Professional certification (PE, environmental specialist credentials) preferred
• Willingness to remain current with regulatory developments through continuing education
