Position Summary

As a Patient Care Technician, you'll be the bridge between our nursing staff and patients, providing compassionate direct care support in our General Medicine unit. You'll work day shifts, assisting healthcare professionals while ensuring patients receive the attention and comfort they need during their stay. This role is essential to patient satisfaction and clinical team efficiency, combining physical caregiving, observation, and communication in a fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene assistance, toileting, and dressing support
• Monitor and report vital signs, documenting patient observations for nursing review
• Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to maintain safety and dignity
• Support nursing staff with patient procedures, specimen collection, and room turnover
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and sterilize medical equipment per protocol
• Respond promptly to patient requests and communicate concerns to the care team
• Maintain accurate patient records and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent, with CNA certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Demonstrated compassion for patients and commitment to respectful, dignified care
• Physical capability to safely lift, transfer, and assist patients
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
• Attention to detail and reliability in a structured medical environment
• Understanding of medical terminology and basic patient care protocols
