AWS DevOps Engineer (Senior)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AWS consulting client in their search for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer. This is a remote position supporting application and infrastructure modernization engagements. You will own build and release cycles for customer projects, lead migrations from legacy systems to AWS, and establish the operational standards that ensure reliable, repeatable deployments.

This role is client-facing and delivery-focused. You'll embed with customer teams, carry personal accountability for release commitments, and work alongside automation platforms that handle repetitive discovery and validation tasks—leaving you to focus on architecture decisions, risk assessment, and cutover execution.

Responsibilities

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Own end-to-end build and release cycles for customer modernization projects
• Manage application configuration and drive Infrastructure as Code practices across deployments
• Share responsibility for production releases, operations, and ongoing maintenance
• Improve and maintain operations tooling including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and metrics infrastructure
• Support engineering teams operationally during legacy-to-cloud migrations, ensuring full retirement of old systems
• Establish and enforce operational best practices and release discipline
• Collaborate with distributed teams and customer subject matter experts to preserve business logic through migration
• Participate in hiring and mentoring of engineering talent
• Contribute to technical strategy and long-term planning

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• 4+ years in configuration management and systems engineering supporting large-scale Agile environments
• 4+ years of Linux or Windows administration experience
• 4+ years working with Git, including branching and merging strategies
• 2+ years of direct experience with AWS infrastructure and platform services
• 2+ years using cloud automation tools such as Ansible or Chef
• 2+ years with container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS), AWS ECS, and Docker
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on reliability and scalability

Preferred:

• Experience across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• AWS certifications: Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or DevOps Professional
• Hands-on work with data pipelines, big data processing, or ML workflows on cloud platforms
