Role Overview

As a Direct Support Professional / Caregiver with Dungarvin's float staff team, you'll provide compassionate, dignified support to individuals with developmental disabilities and special care needs across multiple community locations in the Eugene area. Float positions offer schedule flexibility—you'll work swing shifts (afternoon/evening hours) and overnight shifts based on client needs and your availability. This is hands-on, meaningful work that directly improves the lives of the people you support every day.

What You'll Do

• Assist with personal care routines, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support individuals with activities of daily living and community integration
• Monitor health and safety, respond to behavioral or medical concerns, and report incidents to supervisors
• Administer medication reminders and document care provided
• Communicate with the care team to ensure consistent, person-centered support
• Maintain accurate, timely records and participate in care planning
• Build trusting relationships and model respectful, inclusive support

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Background check clearance (state and federal)
• Physical ability to assist with mobility, lifting, and hands-on care
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to person-centered values
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work rotating swing and overnight shifts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to individual client needs
